My favorite dreams of you
Scrape my mind at night
Robbing me of all sleep
Yet, something that is real
Echoing the sound of your voice
Reminding me of something
That I can never have
Saying things,
That I never wanted to hear
These tears of pain fall
As the loneliness settles back in
Not sure if I can keep going on like this
Yet there is something
Lingering there within the shadows
Watching my every move
Whispering my name
Beckoning for me to come closer
I fight to obey
But it’s not a matter of escaping
Sooner or later
She’ll entice me
I fight it
Yet the light fades more and more
Don’t leave me, not again
I’m not strong enough
But you don’t even see me
So busy with everything going on
I turn, towards the dark
I’ll have to face her
To embrace this dark angel
Continue living in a dream of dreams
She smiles
I look back
To see the tears fall from your eyes
The love that you never gave
I want to reach out
But the dark angel embraces me
Pulling me towards the crowd
I turn, and walk off
