Moon’s Reflection

I sit and stare out at this great sky
The sun falls
The Night begins, singing her song
Soothing and calming my being
The night slowly covers my senses
Engulfing my entire self
Taking me away in its beauty
The darkness in all its hidden meaning
A light pierces the shadows
A mighty gem takes to flight
Soaring brave, true, and free
Her sweeter song wrestles away the night’s hold
Totally under her spell
Her voice rings through my mind
Teasing my soul
Playing games with my heart
I linger on every word
Living simply, just to hear her next note
This night’s beauty soars even higher
In full view, casting her spell across the water
Transfixed in time
Letting go of all known reality
Taking the dive, jumping to her reflection
Coldness wisps away feelings
Caught up in the blackness of water’s depth
I panic, trying to free myself from this place
I need to breathe….
Then, her voice returns to me
The sweetest of all melodies
Relaxing to the flow of her tone
I sink down to the bottom
If her song be my death, then let me die a thousand times
Her voice drew near
A pair of hands touched my face
As lips kissed mine
An angelic voice then said
“Open your eyes and see
Here, you do not need to breathe”
My eyes opened to see amazing beauty
A figure of absolute beauty swam around me
The water was full of light
In the distance a city of lights sparkled
She motioned for me to follow
To the City of Lights we did go
Her voice still swarming my mind
I could not but help to ask
“What is this place?
I was looking at the moon,
And fell into its reflection”
She smiled and placed her hands upon my face
“The moon is the fantasy
The reflection… the reality.”
She moved closer, as if for a kiss
She then whispered
“Open Your Eyes”
She began to sing to me
It all slowly faded away
My eyes opened from this dream
Her voice, the last to fade away
In the moon, I do look
But in the reflection, I shall see.
